This week is Spirit Week. Activities, etc.
are as follows:
Today – Hat Hair Day (wear a crazy hat or do a fun
hairstyle, or both), Video games in a room to be announced at lunch.
Thursday – Throwback Thursday (dress up/anything from the
past), Bingo in room 105 at lunch.
Friday – Halloween Dance in the afternoon. Dress up in your favourite costume. There will also be a haunted house during the
dance.
Any
students interested in volunteering with the Linwood Mentor program or the
Brooklands Literacy project, please see Ms. Tuchscherer in room 105 briefly at
lunch today or tomorrow (Wed or Thurs) to sign up.
Are you a
Grade 12 student with a minimum average of 75%, who is planning to attend
University next September and has demonstrated outstanding community
leadership? If so, please pick up an
information form at the office about the TD Scholarships for Community
Leadership. Last year out of the 2400
applications received by TD Bank, 20 students were awarded full scholarships
valued at up to $70,000 each. This
year’s recipient might be you! Please
see Mrs. Brophy if you have any questions.
Grade 9
and 10 boys basketball players, there is a shooting practice today at lunch in
the middle school gym.

This is a
reminder to all EAL students - students who are new to the country - that the
NEEDS centre will be here today at lunch in Mr. Halbert's room to help students fill
in their application form for the Employment Program.
Attention
Grads: Josten Rings will be here on
Wednesday, Nov. 4th to sell
grad rings and grad tags. Catalogues can
be picked up in the office. Design your own
ring.
Attention
Jimmies: WE Day is taking place on
Monday, November 16th. This year 37
students will be attending. I guess you
are asking yourself, "How do I get to go"? Well, I will tell you. Stop by the office and pick up an application
form for We Day. The application has to be
back to the office by Monday, November 2nd.
Picture retake day is November 5th in the
morning.

Dough Phys Ed fundraiser forms are due back this week- see Mr. Kangas if you
have any questions.
Have you ever wanted to know your blood type? Canadian Blood
Services will be here Tuesday, November 3rd doing typing for the school. If you
are under 17 and would like your blood typed, please see Mrs. Connor in room
209.
Last year's yearbooks are
available for pickup now! If you purchased a book already, please see Mr.
Robson in room 213 AT LUNCH in order to pick yours up. You can still buy a copy
of last year's or this year's yearbook in the office.
