There
will be a meeting at noon on Friday (tomorrow) in room 208 for all Human
Rights/Holocaust Europe trip members.
All members MUST attend!
What does
a toilet mean to you? Think about what it would be like if you didn’t have a
toilet and had to go out in the open. Think about the 1 in every 8 people who
don’t use a toilet and who go out in fields, in the bushes or on the side of
the street. Think about the 800 children who die every day from preventable
diseases caused by poor sanitation, water and hygiene. Today is World Toilet
Day! Access to a safe, clean toilet
should be a basic right for everyone, yet 36% of the world's population still
lives without them. This has grave implications on people's health, wellbeing,
dignity, as well as on the environment, and social and economic
development. World Toilet Day is a
chance to spread the word about the sanitation crisis and what can be done to
address it. Check out unicef.org for
this year's campaign challenge.
Grads please remember to
remind your parents and guardians about the Safe Grad meeting tonight at 7 in
the library. If there is no parental
support, there will be no Safe Grad this year.
